Announcements and Important Events
On Friday, April 3, 2020, the Michigan High School Athletic Association
announced the cancellation of the remainder of the 2019-20 Winter and Spring sports
seasons in compliance with the Thursday (April 2) “state of disaster”
directive by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer closing school buildings and moving
education online for the remainder of the school year to help decrease
the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
This is very disappointing news for our student-athletes, especially
for our seniors. That said, participation in athletics teaches us to
be resilient. As an athlete, we learn to respond to adversity with
courage and optimism. I can assure you that this unfortunate
situation will in some way make all of us stronger. Knowing the
character and leadership of our student-athletes, we will press on to
achieve our team and individual goals.
For now, stay home and follow the social distancing guidelines. There
are plenty of resources online to help you develop an at-home training
regiment. If you would like guidance, please send me an email.
Staying physically active is important during this time of isolation.
When we're given the green light, I will let everyone know the open
gym workout schedule. For now, keep yourself safe, and as always--Go
